Leonardo da Vinci is credited with inventing the scissors for the purpose of demonstrating leverage. Further, the difference between scissors and shears -"scissors" have equal round-shaped handles, while shears have a round 'thumb' handle and an oval shape for fingers.

These two photos are of the cat I used to have. Mister Christmas Kitty was mine for nine years, from the time he was about the size of a baby's foot. He was quite sophisticated and silky black with a white halo on the upper part of his neck/lower back of head (no heathen kitties in my home!). He is the one that gave me the idea of "Cattitude" because he really had one.  CK went to kitty heaven in September 2003.
